Glass Beach is a popular attraction located in MacKerricher State Park, Fort Bragg, California, United States. It is a beach that is covered in small pieces of glass, which have been smoothed and polished by the ocean over time.
The 0.7-mile long trail leads to Belinda Point and includes a stairway down to a rocky pocket beach. The trail is perfect for families with small children. There is a boardwalk through a seasonally wet part of the trail, which then travels through a eucalyptus forest and out to the bluff edge.
The Noyo Headlands Park covers 104 acres and includes access to 3.5 miles of spectacular California bluff top. The park includes a handicapped accessible multi-use trail which connects the Noyo River bridge on the south side of Fort Bragg all the way to the Pudding Creek Trestle on the north side of Fort Bragg.
Seaside Creek Beach is a beautiful, sandy, and very popular seaside beach located ten miles north of Fort Bragg on the Mendocino Coast. It’s owned and managed by the Mendocino Land Trust. This expansive pocket beach is much loved by locals and visitors to the Mendocino Coast.
Ten Mile Dunes Natural Preserve, stretching from Ward Avenue north to the Ten Mile River, contains a unique, native dune and wetland ecosystem. It includes the Inglenook Fen, Ten Mile River, Ten Mile Beach, and the Ten Mile Dunes.
Bruhel Point offers a beautiful “Vista Point†west of Highway One at milepost 74.09 that includes benches, interpretive panels, accessible parking, and an all-access trail. The trail has a concrete surface leading south from the parking lot and offers several benches for ocean viewing.
On the rugged Mendocino Coast, Jug Handle State Natural Reserve beckons visitors with spectacular ocean views, peaceful forests, and a hike through half a million years of ecological history. The reserve’s 2.5-mile Ecological Staircase Trail explores three wave-cut terraces formed by the continental glaciers, rising seas, and tectonic plates that built the Coast Range.
